SKIING PHOTOGRAPHY

CHAMONIX, FRANCE

Skiing and snowboarding are some of the most fun one can have in the mountains. Yet with just a split second of action and so many parameters to juggle, from light to safety to equipment to fitness, it can be surprisingly difficult to photograph in a really satisfying way. Join me in this intensive three days workshop in the adventure capital of the world to learn how to take your ski photography to the next level!

We will spend some time in the classroom learning about systems and techniques, as well as critiquing your existing work (if you want) and mine, looking closely at what works and what doesn't, before planning a proper shoot with a mountain guide and an athlete. Taking into account conditions and weather, we will decide together on an itinerary, which will likely involve ski touring and possibly glacier terrain, before spending the whole second day on the mountain, skiing and shooting.

The third day will be focused on editing, post-processing and digital workflow. We will work together on the images you shot, aiming to have a final edit to present to the group by the end of the day. In my experience, this is often when things really click.
